El IGF-I es un factor neurotrófico con múltiples efectos a nivel de sistema nervioso central, ejerciendo un potente efecto anyiinflamatorio. Por otro lado, al ser precursores de resolvinas y protectinas, los ω-3 modulan la respuesta inflamatoria y promueven la resolución de esta.
Esto convierte a estas moléculas en candidatas prometedores para modular la beuroinflamación en el envejecimiento y sus consecuencias negativas.
Al abordar estos objetivos, buscamos comprender mejor cómo la combinación de IGF-1 y ω-3 puede mejorar la salud cerebral y retrasar la progresión de las enfermedades neurodegenerativas.
